Our Story
The Center for Correctional Concerns was established in 1979 by Sister Vivian Whitehead, O.S.F. CCC's initial vision recognized the need for GED Education and Library Services for the inmates. Programs were added and expanded to serve the needs of the detainees. CCC provides connections with other social service agencies, attorneys, families, specialty courts, churches, homeless shelters, and treatment centers.
Our Mission
The Center for Correctional Concerns offers services and resources to individuals impacted by the justice system within the Will County Adult Detention Facility, equipping them with the necessary tools and support for successful reintegration into the community upon their release. The primary objectives of the CCC are to encourage, guide, and assist incarcerated individuals in their efforts to improve their lives.
Our Vision
CCC envisions inclusive, supportive communities that welcome second chances and provide pathways for meaningful transformation. Its goal is to empower individuals to contribute positively to their families, workplaces, and society, while fostering resilience and encouraging personal growth beyond mere survival.
Our Values
CCC is guided by the belief that all people have the capacity to change. It emphasizes dignity, integrity, commitment, diversity, service, compassion, and excellence, while respecting the inherent worth of each individual and practicing a “ministry of presence”.
Respect, flexibility, availability, ethics, integrity, commitment, diversity, problem solving, confidentiality, service, client focus and ministry of presence are at the heart of CCC's core concepts.
